    - Rewrote Friends/Ignore list, perfected display name changes and previous names on friends/ignore list
    - Added support for Notes
    - Added lobby support allowing you to talk in the friends chat and private message while in the lobby
    - Removed the ;;titles command
    - Made changes to the player icons and the differences between Ironmen icons, it will now be the following:

    Realism/Realism ironman: Ironman badge.png

    Hardcore Ironman: Hardcore Ironman badge.png
    Group ironman: Unchanged
    - The reasoning behind this was to make it less Game mode focused as well as reduce the amount of custom'y content
    - Removed the Aura shop and Xuan dialogue for Auras, these can be purchased through the Aura management screen
    - Edited all Achievement rewards, Easy/Medium/Hard/Elite skill achievements now give their respective skill's fallen star (small/medium/large/huge)
    - Fixed Tzhaar-Mej-Jeh dialogue and added a world announcement for successful Fire cape/Fight Kiln cape gambles
    - Vote parties now give Books of Knowledge once more, this is because Mystery boxes were added to every other Achievement
    - Books of Knowledge have been nerfed, the coin options have been reduced to: 50k/100k/250k/500k from 250k/500k/750k/1m (doubled on weekend)
    - The bonus experience time has been reduced from 2 hours/1.5/1/0.5 to 1/45 mins/30/15
    - The books while awesome, were a lot of the cause for inflation, with 60 players on and a 700 vote party triggering, that instantly added 840m coins into the economy
    - Added difficulty of task to player achievement completion message
    - Added Divination Make-x interface:

    - POH portal now takes you to new home
    - Archaeology collections are now only redeemable at the Archaeology Guild
    - Ironmen can now access GE sets to break/make armour sets
    - Fixed familiar interface not showing all of the options and fixed the buff icon showing the incorrect time remaining 
    - Fixed numerous Dungeoneering smuggles
    - You can now receive Great white shark tasks as a Gold member rather than Diamond
    - Disabled Boss portals teleport
    - Private instances now teleport you home after closing/leaving
    - Removed corpse spiders from the Private instance list
    - Nerfed multiplier on Green thumb when harvesting products from 2.15x to 1.75x
    - Added revenant drop tables and the revenant drop enhancer effect

    - Added Troll spawns to the Burthorpe troll cave, gave them 10x health (10 to 100) for early level Slayer/training
    - Buffed the effigy experience rates, previously the base experience for using effigies was extremely low as the rate of them from pvm was extremely high. They have been adjusted to somewhat match RS3: Realism 1:1, will receive 15/20/25/30k from each discovery, Legendary will receive 50% of what they should (i.e 2.5x RS3 rather than 5x), Experts receive 25% of what they should and Normal receives 12.5% of what they should, this is because if discovering effigies on a normal account, you would receive millions of experience just like that, which isn't ideal
    - Added Fletching achievements, Fletch 500 Steel arrows, Fletch 500 Adamant arrows, Fletch 500 Dark arrows and as already existing, Fletch 250 Ascendri bolts
    - Added Total level achievements, Reach 750/1500/2250 total level
    - Added Combat level achievements, Reach 75/100/126/138 combat
    - Added examine text for the Achievement items relating to Combinations
    - Removed high level bolts, arrows, armour, weapons, potions, jewellery, seeds, herbs, herblore secondaries, summoning secondaries and more from the Grand exchange unlimited items (to try and boost the economy and gp gaining activities meta)
    - Renamed Scavvo at ;;shops to the Equipment Salesman
    - Added T10/20/30/40/50/60 magic weaponry to the Magic shop, this shop is available to all game modes however, ironmen will have a separate rune store to main accounts
    - Removed Death runes, Blood runes and Soul runes from the ironman shop (make em)
    - Added T10/20/30/40/50 ranged weaponry to the Range shop, this shop is available to all game modes
    - Added T10/20/30/40/50/60 melee weaponry to the Melee shop, this shop is available to all game modes
    - These changes were made because early game progression especially for Ironmen modes (HCIM mostly) was extremely taxing and difficult to accurately climb the tiers, Runescape 3 has all of these weapons available in the shop, so I figured it'd be best if we did too as realistically the early levels aren't that important and shouldn't be as demoralising
    - Armour was not added to the shops like RS3, this should be crafted yourself
    - Added new Mining perk, Master Miner: +15% Mining exp, Increases all damage done to rocks by 10%, when mining a Rockertunity deal 15% more damage
    - New Smithing perk, Alchemic Smithing: +15% Smithing exp, Reduces the amount of heat lost by 20%, Increases chance to smelt 2 bars by 10%
    - Added new Master perks for Mining and smithing: Your items never lose heat when Smithing, Your stamina while mining depletes 50% slower and your ore boxes can store 50% more ores
    - 2x and 3x exp weekends/events will no longer multiply experience gained in Archaeology and Invention, instead, Archaeology base precision will doubled/tripled, excavation and screening xp will be doubled/tripled
    - Training Invention on a 2x/3x will increase Item xp gained by 50%, manufacturing items will grant 2x exp. However, disassembling/siphoning/lamps will not grant improved exp 
    - Prismatic lamps no longer grant hidden BXP, instead, they will provide instant experience as in RS3
    - Smouldering lamps will now consume your Bonus experience as well as provide a flat exp gain
    - Re-added Ice warriors and Ice giants to Slayer task list, added them to the Asgarnian Ice dungeon

     

    [+] New Experience Overlay

    - For a long time, we've not had (+x Bonus xp) pop up when training, this for me is an extremely important part as just receiving flat experience is no where near as good as knowing how much extra you're getting from outfits, auras, goodwill, equipment etc
    - As I stated a few updates ago, we've streamlined the way that experience bonuses calculate which means that the bonus exp should be quite accurate, there'll obviously be a few things still applying to the base exp which will distort the figure it should be (i.e 150 xp for magic log would say 350 xp (+150 bonus xp)), if anyone finds cases of this let us know, as I'd love to keep the base exp gain from all skilling stagnant and have bonus experience calculate on everything!
    - Anyway, here's what it'll look like now:

    - The following cases increase bonus exp: Auras, Perks, Juju potions, Outfits, Equipment such as Skilling backpacks/Comp capes, GIM events, Goodwill events, Weekend 2x, Donor rank increases.
    - Let me know if you find/think of any!

     

    [+] Living Wyverns

    - Living wyverns (Wyverns) have been added to Ataraxia and Slayer! These are Elite Slayer creatures similar to Mammoths, Ripper demons, Camel warriors
    - You can find them residing in the Asgarnian Ice dungeon, South of Port Sarim, there's a rope leading down to them in the Skeletal Wyvern cavern
    - When fighting the Wyverns, you must stay warm, but not too warm:

    - By igniting these fires around the cavern you will stay warm and avoid the cold, you will have a Cold debuff which at certain percentages greatly increases the damage you take from the wyverns and can even permanently stun you (until you die)
    - It is advised to bring Super antipoisons, Super antifires and Mage equipment when fighting the Wyverns
    - These Wyverns drop the Tier 85 Two-handed Crossbow which uses Wyvern spines (a common drop) (or any other bolt) as ammunition
    - The Wyvern crossbow when attacking will automatically poison the enemy, the longer you are in combat, the higher poison damage they will take

     

    [+] Archeron Mammoths

     

    - Archeron Mammoths are huge elite Slaying creatures, they can be found through the Slayer teleports in your teleport interface
    - They have fairly basic mechanics, as we have removed the charge attack
    - They hit extremely hard with Melee, so I advise you protect from Melee when fighting them
    - Use melee equipment, they are weak to stab
    - They also occasionally throw up some ice which crashes down dealing Range damage, this can be dodged
    - The mammoths will occasionally disable your prayer, so be sure to keep a quick prayer setup ready!
    - They may be big and tough, but they won't trouble you too much:

    - The Mammoths have no unique drops, however, their Mammoth tusks which drop 100% of the time are used in Summoning to create a Pack mammoth pouch with 99 Summoning, which can hold up to 32 items making it the best Beast of burden pouch there is

     

    [+] Low/Mid-level Teleports

    - Something that we lost with the massively outdated Teleport interface was a lot of accessibility to early level Slayer and training
    - To combat this, I've added teleports to various creatures around Ataraxia to the Portal at home:

    - Hopefully, with these added, early game training should be much clearer

     

    [+] Sign of the Porters

    - Sign of the porters have been added!
    - Sign of the porters automatically bank items that you gather through: Archaeology, Mining, Woodcutting, Farming, Hunter and other items such as Dragonhide, Red spiders eggs, etc..
    - Each porter has a number of charges before it depletes, the quality of the porter depends on your Divination level:

    - When having a Porter active in your inventory or equipped, you will bank the items gathered:

    - When gathering more than 1 resource, for example, mining 2 ores at once, it will bank both ores but only consume 1 charge
    - Grace of the Elves is a necklace that can be created by enchanting an Alchemical onyx necklace. This item can store up to 500 charges of Porters by using them on it:

    [+] Seedicide, Herbicide, Bonecrusher & Charming Imp

    - Seedicide has been added with it's proper interface, you can buy this from the Store or purchase from the Vote shop
    - Seedicide resides in your inventory, pocket or Toolbelt (provided you have unlocked it at a Slayer master) and gives you the option to select Seeds to be automatically consumed for Farming experience rather than dropping to the floor
    - You can also toggle the ability to pick up all unselected seeds
    - This applies to all seeds and you can manage this through the Seedicide interface:

    - The interface will show you the amount of experience you'll receive (not taking into account game mode) as well as the Grand exchange mid price for the seed
    - Similar to the Seedicide, Herbicide has been fully added!
    - Herbicide can be purchased from the Store or from the Dungeoneering reward shop
    - Similarly to Seedicide, it will consume dropped (unnoted) herbs for Herblore experience
    - You can also toggle to automatically pick up all unselected herbs:

    - Bonecrusher, similarly to both Seedicide and Herbicide, the Bonecrusher will automatically crush all Bones that are dropped for instant experience in Prayer.
    - Bonecrusher can be bought from the Store or from the Dungeoneering reward shop
    - It is equipped with a similar interface in which you can toggle all bones you want crushed and those you want automatically picked up (should you desire):

    - Finally, the Charming imp. We've had this on Ataraxia for quite a while, however, it has never had the consumption options available
    - The charming imp will consume Charms and Spirit gems selected for instant Summoning experience
    - You can pick all the charms you would like to destroy and auto collect:

    - The Treasure goblin perk also cooperates with the Charming imp, with the increased drop amounts & rate of collection, your experience/collections will be greatly improved

     

     

    [+] Spring Cleaner

    - The Spring cleaner is quite a bit more complicated than the Herbicide and Seedicide
    - You can buy a Spring cleaner from the Store
    - Spring cleaner converts items that drop from combat into different things depending on your settings, you can pick between converting dropped items to bonus experience, coins or their base components, you can select the specific items you want to do what!
    - Spring cleaner runs off a consumable item called Springs, this can either be Springs gained from the Store or Tight springs created through Invention using components
    - There are three modes to the Spring cleaner:

    - Research mode will convert items that drop into experience, I.E Leather armor, Jewellery and Battlestaves into Crafting xp and Shortbows/Shieldbows into Fletching xp
    - Dismantle mode will disassemble the items into their base ingredients, such as: Black dragonhide armor into Black dragonhide, Battlestaves into the orb and the base staff, bows into flax and the logs
    - This can fail and consume a Spring
    - You can see the difference here:

    - High Alch Mode will convert metal salvage that drops into coins which will automatically be put into your Money pouch, this does not require runes but consumes a Spring in the process
    - Disassembly mode converts metal salvage into their Invention components, this does not consume springs

    - Similarly to Herbicide and Seedicide, you can have Spring cleaner in your inventory, pocket slot or Toolbelt if you have unlocked it through Slayer
    - To unlock these different Spring cleaner abilities, you'll have to upgrade it using Springs/Tight springs:

    - As you can see, from upgrading it to the Spring cleaner 2000, I unlocked the High Alch Mode, if I upgrade it again, i'll unlock more xp for researching, Disassembly mode and a higher chance for Dismantles to succeed
    - To upgrade the Spring cleaner fully, you'll need 10,000 springs, however, this is barely necessary unless you want the optimum settings, you'll only need 3000 Springs (from your inventory (don't add them to the cleaner)) to get all the necessary settings

     

    [+] Brawling Gloves

    - As stated last update, Brawling gloves have been added as a rare reward from Mystery boxes, these won't work exactly like RS3 but still have similar functionality.
    - Receiving a pair of brawling gloves from a Mystery box is 1/250~
    - They no longer have bonuses for training in the wilderness
    - Brawling gloves will give you +50% bonus xp in the Skill they are for, they have 300,000 xp stored which will consume as you train:

    - The 50% extra experience gained as bonus will consume the charges on the gloves:

    - For example, here, the fraction of the 850.6 bonus xp will be consumed as charges on the gloves up to 300,000 exp

     

    Quite a large update, we're getting closer and closer to finishing and releasing, the next biggest thing to tackle is Combat.

    We'll need active testers for this for multiple opinions and views, we want to get this right, so be sure to apply on the Discord.

    These benefits are subject to change, be sure to check this thread for updates to the donator benefits.

     

    There are currently 6 donator ranks, bronze.pngBronze Member - $20silver.pngSilver Member - $50, gold.pngGold Member - $100, platinum.pngPlatinum Member - $250, 
    diamond.pngDiamond Member - $500, master.pngMaster Member - $1,000.

    To reach these ranks you can do the following:
    - Redeeming perk boxes
    - Redeeming Treasure hunter key boxes
    - Purchasing animation overrides
    - Purchasing Runemetrics Pro
    - Redeeming Ataraxia coins
    - Purchasing booster tokens
    - Purchasing items from the Store

    The following action will not give you Donation total

  3. Welcome to the new skill of Ataraxia,

     

    Archaeology

    Archaeology is a gathering skill, your goal is to uncover mysterious Artefacts long buried beneath years of Ataraxian lore.

    Doing so will grant experience in the skill as well as unlock new materials, zones, passive powers, ancient ways of Invention and Summoning and more!

     

    You can train this skill to 99 for Max cape or 120 for Completionist cape (along with the other requirements). The journey to 120 will include uncovering Artefacts, sifting soil in hopes of ancient materials, using those materials to restore the Artefacts, discussing collections with various Collectors of the Artefacts all over Ataraxia and finally, unlocking amazing passives through the Guild Monolith at the center of the Archaeology Guild.

     

    The Basics

    Using your Archaeology Journal from your Starter equipment, teleport to the Archaeology Guild. Here is where you will begin your Archaeological journey.

    Collectors

    You can view all collections and the people associated as well as rewards here: https://runescape.wiki/w/Archaeology_collections

    You can begin your Collections at the Guild, Velucia is the main collector and collects one of every single Artefact for the Museum of Varrock.

    Fortunately, Armar X K1ng has added a feature to switch between the Collectors to save you running all over Ataraxia to complete the collections. Simply talk to the Collector currently there and press:

    You can pick any collector you would like and they will stay there until you change once more.

    By clicking the noticeboard behind the Collectors you can view your current progress on all Collections:

    This is an easy way to track the completed collections, if it's completed, it'll have a green tick next to the relevant Collection.

     

    Ancient Invention

    Ancient invention is probably the most overpowered piece of content to come from Archaeology. You can unlock two new blueprints: 

    'Ancient tools' & 'Ancient gizmos', these are tradeable and can be made using Torn blueprint fragments from the Stormguard citadel.

    Ancient Tools

    There are three ancient tools: Enhanced Fishing rod-o-matic, Enhanced pyromatic and Enhanced hammertron, there is nothing too crazy about these. The only difference is, when disassembling or siphoning these, they give you experience for a level 80 piece, rather than 70 on their non-enhanced versions.

    Ancient Gizmos

    Ancient gizmos are the most overpowered part of Archaeology, rather than 5 spots for parts to make awesome perks, you have 9:

    Having 9 slots opens a lot of possibilities. For weaponry, the best in slot is:

    There are obviously heaps of alternatives and heaps of combinations you can do, this might not even be best in slot! It will depend on the content and weaponry you are using.

    - If you played on the first Ataraxia, your account will be saved
    - Therefore, your username and password will be the exact same
    - However, all of your levels including your # completions/boss kills/npc kills and Skilling numbers will be reset

    - At the end of Ataraxia 1 I knew that there was a fundamental issue with the longevity of the store's continual profit, with 75% of our funding coming from one time perk purchases, we were failing to reach consistent profits in the months we had lower traffic. Therefore, as stated in previous updates, certain items will be added to the store to not only bridge the gap between the lower and higher Donor ranks but also allow us to consistently make money regardless of new traffic.

    - This box contains almost every Cosmetic rare available on Ataraxia. You can receive the following items, in no particular order: Ring of Rares, Fox, Chicken, Grain, Sled, Pogo stick, Golden cane, Glowbug in a jar, Bubble blower, Crate with Zanik, Map hat, Lucky coin, Golden katana, Christmas tree hat, Pink partyhat, Pink h'ween, Bunny ears, Green santa hat, Lava santa hat, Lava h'ween, Holly wreath, Chromatic partyhat, Black partyhat, Black h'ween, Christmas cracker, Santa hat, Black santa hat, Green h'ween, Blue h'ween, Red h'ween

    Price undecided - Walk Mystery Box

    - This box contains all available walk overrides on Ataraxia. You can buy them all on the store separately however, the price will fluctuate depending on the walk. For example, Zombie walk, Blink walk, Assassin (naruto) walk and Slowmo walk will be more expensive than basic ones in order to form some sort of economy for these walks, as they are all a token, and tradeable. The box has equal weighting for every single walk, so you have a 4/17 chance to receive one of the more expensive ones, or, don't like the risk? Just buy it straight.
    - The box contains the following walks: Loved up, Party Fever, Plague Doctor, Cat, Sandstorm, Proud, Barbarian, Revenant, Sad, Happy, Twisted Jester, Hot Sand, Conga, Zombie, Blink, Assassin and Slowmo

    [+] Jar of Divine light

    - Upon reaching 1,000 or 1,600 total on a Hardcore ironman, you can now go to ;;shops and talk to Mr Ex:

    - He will give you the following options, to buy your first extra life for 10m at 1,000 total or your second for 100m at 1,600 total:

    You HAVE to be a Hardcore ironman to purchase these lives, you can't do it post-death.

    [+] Investigator Changes

    - Removed the chance to automatically open Clue scrolls
    - The amount of steps per clue is now a constant, they are: Easy = 2, Medium = 3, Hard = 4, Elite = 4, Master = 5
    - If you have the Investigator perk these are lowered to: Easy = 1, Medium = 1, Hard = 3, Elite = 3, Master = 4
    - If you are a Diamond donator: Easy = 1, Medium = 1, Hard = 2, Elite = 2, Master = 3
    - If you are a Master donator: Easy = 1, Medium = 1, Hard = 2, Elite = 2, Master = 2
    - I know a lot of you treasured the auto opening, however, with the Luck update a reality, Alchemical onyx (fortunate components) will be sought after, therefore, clue scrolls must be challenging enough to eliminate people spam opening

     

    [+] Mystery Boxes

    - Mystery boxes are hotly desired and as a whole, in Ataraxia 1 they were extremely overpowered when it comes to Invention rewards
    - Something that Runescape 3 did amazingly with the Mining/Smithing rework is the Stone spirits, because instead of giving you straight resources which ruins the economy, the stone spirits simply double your resources, but you still have to go and use them, so it's much more of a slow burn
    - I wanted to do something similar with Mystery boxes, great rewards, but require a little bit of effort to reap the full reward

    - Amulet of Farming: This amulet provides teleports to every Herb, Tree and Fruit tree patch:

    - Donor Transfer Scroll: This scroll will allow you to transfer all of your perks and Donation total to another account, however, it will disable the account you use it on permanently. This item was added as in the past, we constantly transferred donation totals and it took a lot of time out of the Moderator's duties, this way, it's in the player's control.
    - Name Change Scroll: This scroll will be redeemable with any Administrator to permanently change your account name. We've previously done this based on Donation rank/in-game gp for the Name change/I just do it for free anyway, now it'll cost a set amount and only be redeemable through this.
    - Another large change is the addition of all Skilling outfits to the Store, these are only the base sets like Artisan's, Golden mining etc. You can buy each set for $5 or every set for $75
    - Herbicide: This can also be purchased from Dungeoneering, it'll grind any dropped Herbs into Herblore experience
    - Seedicide: This item will grind any dropped Seeds into Farming experience
    - Spring Cleaner: This item breaks down metal drops into their base components and sends the result to your bank

    - The new Donor zone is completed, with huge help finding the area from Xenthium and various beta testers, the new zone is done
    - To enter the zone you will require at least Bronze member ($20 donated)

    - The Slayer update is finally upon us, something I wanted to ensure we had on the launch was the RS3 slayer system, with different Slayer masters, every task available, task weighting, task preferring, task extending, the proper Slayer rewards and all of the bits in between
    - Armar has been working hard on the new Slayer system and happy to announce it's done!
    - To start, you can talk to the Slayer master at home, (default is Turael):

    - When you progress with Slayer, you'll unlock more Slayer masters, you can access these by talking to Turael and selecting:

    - Doing so will replace Turael with the Master of your choice, you can then get a task from their task list rather than Turael's
    - Slayer VIP Tickets have been added! You can redeem these to be offered two potential tasks when getting a new one! Like this:

    - With this update brings a lot more variety to Slayer! With almost every task in the game

    - We have removed the following tasks: Brine rats, Catablepon, Fleshcrawlers, Mogres, Sea Snakes, Shades, Molanisks, Killerwatts, Terror dogs, Scabarites, Suqahs, Warped tortoises, Warped terrorbirds, Creatures of Daemonheim, Stalker creatures and Ghouls.
    - Along with this update, the Lost grove and Anachronia creatures have been added! All Lost grove creatures and Anachronia creatures have been added with their RS3 combat mechanics and drops!
    - There's too much to cover without being a huge wall of text, tl;dr RS3 slayer is added to Ataraxia, it's perfect.

     

     

    The Update doesn't look as big as previous, however, the content involved in this update is probably 5x the others.

    We're making swift progress and on track for release before April. When we know closer to the date is when the date will be announced.

     

    Player vs. Monsters

    The Slayer system is finished, we're still testing specific drop tables etc, but as a whole it is done, some spawns missing.

    Luck rework is completed, testing is required before including it in an Update.

    Hazelmere's Signet Ring is in the game.

    Archaeology dig sites, artefacts, restorations and everything in between is completed and in testing.

    - Removed Vote books (Books of Knowledge) from Vote Parties, replaced with Mystery boxes
    - Removed Asylum Surgeon ring from Treasure Trails Item shop
    - Discontinued Rare Item Token store (Diango), constantly rotating this Shop proved difficult over the last few years, instead, I felt it was best to include these items in other content such as Treasure Hunter, Events
    - Blurite Rock has been adjusted to the Mining and Smithing rework, it requires 75 Mining, Hardness: 140, Hitpoints: 1000 and XP Multiplier: .8x. The rock also has a new loot table, you can receive: Luminite, Orichalcite, Drakolith, Necrite, Phasmatite, Light animica and Dark animica from the rock randomly
    - Removed Crystal glass/Robust glass container mining
    - Renamed Rune pouches to: Rune pouch (holds 16k of 3 runes), Large rune pouch (holds 50k of each rune) and Huge rune pouch (holds 2B of each rune). Large rune pouch provides +5 damage and Huge rune pouch provides +10 with +10 life bonus

The formula is: Level in the Skill * 5, therefore, if you are Skilling at 99 Fishing on Expert mode (25x) and click the NPC, you'll receive: 99 * 5 * 25 which is 12,375 extra experience! This should encourage people to stay active and present at their screens to receive the best Exp/hr
    - Removed all occurrences of the Squeal of Fortune on the source as they are no longer used

    - With Daily challenges coming to Ataraxia 2, Skilling contracts will remain a great way to train individual skills

    - The inconsistencies between the old Teleport interface and the style of Runescape 3 was too high:

    - As we have the new Boss portals at Max Guild and at Home, the ability to teleport directly to bosses is over. You will have to pick and choose between the bosses you would like to configure to the portals, otherwise, on your bike lad.

    - Fixed Construction teleports taking you to Gnome agility, added Prifddinas Ithell Construction portal teleport

    [+] Home Thieving Stalls

    - In order to start the balance of gp/hr and the baseline of the economy for Ataraxia 2, it had to begin with the first thing every player will go to. Thieving stalls.
    - On previous versions of Ataraxia we've had 5 Basic Thieving stalls; Crafting (low level crafting supplies), Food (All tiers of Fish), General (Mid-level crafting supplies), Magic (Magic armour, Runes) and Scimitar stall (scimitars, shocker).
    - All of these stalls were beneficial in their own way, Food great for early game fish, Crafting great to start crafting, General great for Ironmen and magic/scim great for Money. 
    - All of these stalls had passive money gain per thieve, from: 1gp - Thieving Level * 52 for the lowest stall to 1gp - Thieving level * 252 for Scimitar. 
    - On top of this, we added two Donor stalls, the Bronze stall which gave an assortment of Noted/Unnoted Uncut/Cut gems and the Diamond stall which gave Proteans, Noted high level food, Silverhawk feathers, Noted high level gems, AS WELL AS 1gp - Thieving Level * 350 per thieve.
    - Re-releasing the Thieving like this would be detrimental to the Ataraxia 2 economy day 1. Therefore, after discussing with Beta testers, it was agreed the best way to balance the system would be removing the entire gp reward and instead giving a single item per thieve that sells for a guaranteed amount of money.
    - So, here are the new values (Stall: Item, Price):

    Crafting Stall: Polished buttons, 100gp
    Food Stall: Rotten tomato, 500gp
    General Stall: Bottle of wine, 1050gp
    Magic Stall: White magic staff, 1550gp
    Scimitar Stall: Rusty scimitar, 2050gp
    $20 Stall: Lapis lazuli gem, 2350gp
    $500 Stall:  Unchanged, read below

    - I decided to leave the entire idea of the Diamond stall as is, you can choose to go to the other stalls for base cash, but the Diamond stall is a great source of other items.
    - However, Silverhawk feathers have been removed and the amount of Gp you receive from Thieving the Diamond stall has been reduced to 1gp - Thieving level * 30, meaning you'll receive at random an amount between 1gp - 2970gp per Thieve.

     

    [+] New Home Portals

    - The Home area Boss portals have been added! You can now attune these to the Boss you would like for 3 million gp per time:

    - There are Two portals that can be tuned, as well as a 3rd portal that will soon be made into the "Spotlight portal" meaning every time the Boss spotlight rerolls, the portal will be directed to that Boss for free

     

    [+] Website Changes
     

    - Excuse the pixelated imagery, when taking screenshots of large areas it seems to die.
    - The Store has been updated! We have moved past Gpay and finally have an inbuilt store into our Website. This ups the amount of customising we can do as well as lessens the tax we receive per transaction (Gpay took 3% of everything, and then we paid another % for Stripe (who we still use))
    - The Store is yet to be finalised so don't take this image as the full store, but it allows us an awesome UI to buy products as well as apply coupons as you can see here:

    - Furthermore, it has an extremely easy-to-use Dashboard for the Administrators to apply coupon codes etc:

    - I'm excited to start using this Store as it should greatly improve not only the usability for you guys, but also the profit for myself and the Developers, by about 3% ?

    - The overall quality of the Website has been improved, Node and Kingfox have been working hard to finally get our Website to an excellent standard, and Node has managed to pull this off:

    - The Website has a new Downloads page! As we now have a Mac/Linux compatible NXT client, we'll be able to provide everyone with the best client possible, as well as detailing the listed requirements to run the game smoothly:

    - As well as a new look, still a few small issues with Voting, which will be ironed out later today!:

    - Finally, and best for last, Hiscores. For a long time we've had a lot of issues with the Hiscores, players receiving 2b exp and then randomly losing their spot, players just disappearing etc.
    - But I'm proud to put forward our new Hiscores, it's best if you take a look and browse around yourself but by all means read here as well: https://ataraxia-ps.com/hiscores/

    - As you can see, there's a new look. Let me walk you through it:
    - Up the top you'll see Regular/Normal, referring to the Game mode and account type (eg. Expert, Ironman), on the right of that is Virtual levels, where you can toggle between seeing people's levels up to 120.
    - It will also detail the last time their account file/experience was updated, along with Experience, Total Level and the indices of their Prestige level. Player rankings will scale on Prestige > Total Level > Experience, I.E 3rd prestige total 2000 will beat a 2nd prestige total 2200

    - As we can see here, it details their Game mode, exp rate, prestige and total level. As well as the last update for their account.
    - The COOLEST feature of the new hiscores is the Change column, which will show the amount of experience they've received since "This week", but you can change between the options:

    - We do plan on expanding the Hiscores further, as you can see we need to add Archaeology to it as well as introducing Boss kills, clues, Minigame hiscores, but that will all follow launch.
    - A huge shout out to Kingfox for all of the Web development and Node for overseeing and assisting with the entire thing as well as non-stop supporting the Website and backend of the server.

     

     

    A new feature I wanted to add to the Updates, as you can see on the Discord we have the progression Graphic, I want to explain the progress on each that isn't included with these updates.

    [+] General Changes

    - 1x Realism mode added, this mode is 1x the exp rate of RS3 (excluding any exp modifiers). You can choose to be a Realism Ironman or simply a Realism normal account. You will receive +25% drop rate!
    - The Novice (100x) game mode has been removed and replaced with Realism
    - The Gamemodes are now as follows: Regular (50x), Expert (25x), Legendary (5x), Realism (1x), Ironman (<--- Any of those), Hardcore Ironman (5x), Group Ironman (5x or 25x).
    - Removed Amulet of Glory and Ring of Duelling from Starter equipment, these have been replaced with the Amulet of Defence and Asylum Doctor's ring. Glory should be a big step for many accounts before they go into higher level jewellery, to have it as the first item didn't sit right with me. Asylum Doctor's ring has been added to amend the difference in attack bonuses from Glory > Defence
    - Silver members no longer take damage when sipping Overloads (this was taken from the OVERLOADED pet perk), this includes Altar of War overloads
    - Omnipotence items have been discontinued, with Trimmed masterwork making an appearance as well as other high tier Gloves, Boots and other accessories, the constant need to buff/edit Omnipotence items isn't worth the item sink they provided. Instead, players will need to pick and choose for the best-in-slot items for their given content desires
    - Removed Cosmetic Rares from Treasure Hunter and Hazelmere's chime shop
    - All seasonal rares are now tradeable (rares from the latest H'ween/Christmas events)
    - Removed 250M/500M/1B/1.5B/2B exp announcements
    - Shooting Star has been reworked (slightly), the first person to reach the Star will be broadcasted to the server as well as how much Mining experience they received
    - Removed the Ore rewards from Star Sprite and replaced with Runite, Necrite and Banite stone spirits (read M&S rework update notes for details)
    - Removed all Logs from the reward table
    - Added the following Herblore secondaries to the reward table: Wyvern bonemeal, Searing ashes, Morchella mushroom, Phoenix feather, Ground mud runes. Along with the existing: Crushed nests, Grenwall spikes & Pure essence

    - The rewards from Voting are as follows (we will likely have 3 Voting websites, if not 4):

    All Ranks: 500K coins per vote, 1 Vote point per, 1/50 chance to receive an Ataraxia dollar (vote)
    Silver+: 50K extra coins per vote, 33% chance to get a Box of clue scrolls per vote, 33% chance to get 1 extra Treasure hunter key.
    Gold+: 100K extra coins per vote, 50% chance to get a Box of clue scrolls per vote, 50% chance to get 1 extra Treasure hunter key.
    Platinum+: 200K extra coins per vote, 1 Box of clue scrolls per vote, 1 Treasure hunter key per vote.
    Master+: 300K extra coins per vote, 2 Box of clue scrolls per vote, 2 Treasure hunter keys per vote.

    - I reduced the amount of base coins received from Voting to prevent some early inflation on coins before the server even progressed. The base value might be increased in the future. Please leave any feedback about these changes below or PM me on Discord.

     

    [+] Mining & Smithing Rework

    [+] Mining

    - Mining is now as it is on Runescape 3!
    - The biggest change with the Mining and Smithing rework is the quality of equipment you can smith, however, a large part of this update is the tiers of Mining and the ores you receive/need for Smelting bars that lead to the creation of this new equipment
    - The tier list is as follows for new Mining:

    - As you can see, Rocks now have Durability/Hitpoints, you can quickly check any Rock stats by Prospecting it, which will show the following:

    - To understand this, it's best to compare it to a pickaxe:

    - Durability/hitpoints refers to the amount of time you'll spend Mining a rock before receiving an ore
    - Hardness refers to basically the rock's defence level, in order to counter this, you'll need to use a pickaxe with enough "Rock penetration" to break it, otherwise, your speed of mining and damage dealt to the rock will be greatly decreased, using a tier of pickaxe equal to the rock will completely negate any hardness present
    - To begin mining, equip/add a pickaxe to your toolbelt of which you have the Mining level to use, and then go to the location in which you want to mine.
    - When mining the rock, you'll have two progress bars:

    - The top bar is your Stamina, this determines how long you will be able to mine before stopping (clicking again)
    - The bottom bar is the progress you have before receiving the ore and the max amount of experience from that Rock
    - You can Critical strike to deal more damage while Mining, you have a base 5% chance to hit on each swing, the following table displays the Mining levels required to increase the chance of a critical swing:

    - And these are the bonuses you receive provided you Crit:

    - The amount of experience you receive per strike is determined through this formula: Experience = Damage x Rock XP Modifier x 0.4
    - Where Rock XP Multiplier:

    - And Damage = Mining level + 1/10th of your Strength level (scaling to the closest 1) + Damage rolled from your pickaxe + NetHardness + crit chance bonus (provided you crit)
    - NetHardness = Penetration - Hardness where if = < 0 = 0
    - Therefore, when using a Tier 50 Rune pickaxe on Light animica which ranges from 25-75 damage with 75 rock penetration, the formula would be as follows:
    99 + 9 + 25 to 75 - 160 + 0 (didn't roll the crit) = -27 to 23
    - Then you calculate the Experience through Damage x Rock XP modifier x 0.4, So:
    -27 to 23 x 0.84 x 0.4 = -9.07 to 7.73, meaning anything below 0 you'll receive no experience.
    - However, if you have a T90 pickaxe on Light animica, which ranges from 45-135 damage and has enough penetration to negate hardness, the formula would be as follows:
    99 + 9 + 45 to 135 + 0 + 0 = 153 to 243, then experience: 
    153 to 243 x 0.84 x 0.4 = 51.4 to 81.64 exp (excluding all multipliers)
    - Now to calculate Rockertunity, basically encouraging you to pay attention to receive more experience, a rock will glow yellow like this:

    - The base effect Rockertunity has is 4x your damage, which increases your experience and speed you mine an ore, it will only appear once every 35 seconds and expires when you mine it. At higher levels, you can receive higher rockertunity multipliers which increase damage here's the full level requirements:

    - I hope that all made sense, TLDR: Just use a pickaxe equal to the Tier of the rock or you're wasting your exp

    [+] Smithing

    - Now for Smithing! You can best start your Smithing journey at the Artisan's workshop
    - The main difference between new and old Smithing is that fact that you can store all of your ores and bars in a Metal bank rather than your actual bank. This makes the ease of making new Bars and equipment much easier than running back and forth!
    - For example, here is what your Metal bank might look like:

    - The recipes are similar, but a little different, Luminite replaces Coal for Adamantite and Runite bars, past that, Bars require all sorts of new Ore to be created! With these bars you can then create new tiered armour!

    - Creating armour is now also different, you similarly to Mining have two progress bars:

    - The top bar is the heat of the Unfinished item, the bottom bar is your progress to completing it, when the heat drops too low, you must use it on a Forge to reheat it so it's possible to progress on the item
    - For example, this Unfinished smithing item is becoming an Elder rune full helm:

    - The progress on it is 83%, while the heat is 74%, meaning I'll have more than enough heat to complete the project, there's 324 experience left to gain in the item (that's base 1x, no multipliers) which is the experience I'll receive while smithing the item
    - When the item is completed, I'll receive the actual item, in this case:

    - Maintaining a high level of heat increases the amount of progress is made, so try keep your heat steady so you progress quickly when Smithing the items, here's the table of progress for Heat:

    - While there's a lot more to cover with Smithing, a lot of it you'll learn as you go, so instead I'll detail the new tiering system for Mining and Smithing:

    [+] Mining and Smithing Rework Tiers

    - Similar to the other system, there are tiers across all levels, from T1 (Bronze) to the now maximum T90 (Elder Rune)
    - However, between each tier there can be upgrades! Past T10 (Iron), you can start to upgrade your equipment further with more of the same resources, which can range from +1 to +5. To make a +2 you'll need to make the base armour, then +1, then use that +1 to make +2. This continues all the way to +5.
    - The main difference before Necronium (tier 70) is more armour on the equipment, which is fairly irrelevant. However, past T70, each upgrade will give you more armour and more Life bonus, as you can see here:

    - This also carries through to weaponry however, the damage and accuracy is increased rather than armour/health
    - Smithing armour is all tank armour, with the exception of Masterwork, which will require a whole guide for itself. Basically T90-T92 power armour 
    - TLDR: Deposit ore to Metal bank, make bars, use bars to make unfinished items, use anvil to progress unfinished items while topping up heat to improve time it takes, item completes, upgrade item, or don't, idc

    - That concludes Mining & Smithing, there'll be detailed guides in the future I'm sure, as they are quite complex, but very easy to understand once you get the hang of it.

    - The Max Guild portal is now tune-able to any Boss in the game! This already existed, however, it's now up to date with the RS3 options as well as redone to save data overflowing the Player file
    - This will cost a regular player 6M per retune with a 12 hour cooldown, if you have over $100 donated, it'll be reduced to 4M and 8 hours, $250 donated will reduce it to 2M and 4 hours. If you have over $1000 donated, there's no retune cost and no cooldown.

    [+] Prestige System (WIP)

    - Prestiging! When considering the relaunch and Skill reset, my first thought was the issues with the amount of experience needed to max your account out (2,000,000,000 XP in all Skills)
    - For a new player, this amount is extremely high and seems too far to achieve, however, as RS3 is a fairly experience heavy game compared to what it used to be & the fact we have exp modes up to 50x the rate of RS3, achieving 200m all isn't that difficult
    - So for those who join, they can still view maximum exp as an achievable goal, but for those who love to train and progress further than others, Prestiging is an option
    - I've played many servers myself in my 15+ years of playing RSPS, one of which, exercised a Prestige system that was incredible, at the time, this server wouldn't stand up to any with confidence, however, this single piece of content interested me endlessly

    - SO. That being said, I wanted to implement a prestige system to Ataraxia. The system is complete, however, the rewards and incentives to prestige (other than having prestige and clout) are yet to be decided. This is where I need your help! If you can think of anything please let me know.
    - In order to Prestige, a player will require 200M XP in every Skill (including Archaeology), when they have this, they can go to the Prestiging stone at home:

    - This will reset your levels to 1 as well as remove any existing Skilling contract blocks on your account. Doing so will give you a Prestige level, currently there are only 5 total, meaning you can prestige 5 times. This will likely be expanded in the distant future.

    [+] New Home

    - While Menaphos accurately displayed the key aspects of Ataraxia's amazing graphics and revision, the area had a number of flaws that slowly annoyed me over time. Such as: Too many plants, too large, too many trees, too difficult to find important things.
    - So I have decided to discontinue the Menaphos home, and instead, I've been working on a new one.
    - The main aspect of Ataraxia that players seem to be drawn to is PVM and Slayer/Reaper assignments. Thus, it seemed the best decision to make the new Home.. 

    War's Retreat

    - Excuse the poor quality, blame my recording software, I assure you there's no FPS drops or lag on the actual NXT client.
    - Ataraxia's home has always been so jam-packed with NPC's and objects that this time, I've gone for a more simplistic approach
    - War's Retreat will be the hub for quickly transitioning from Slayer task to Slayer task or Boss to Boss
    - While I loved having everyone in one area with the last two homes, it's time to allow people to split up into different areas
    - War's Retreat has 4 portals, 1 for the Spotlighted Boss, 1 for Reaper tasks, 2 for personal re-tuning
    - On top of this, it also has the Altar of War, which will restore your Hitpoints, cleanse any poison. Silver+ members will also restore Summoning and Prayer points as well as have an option to enable a Overload and Super antipoison for 100K per use. Platinum members will also receive this except be able to pay 100K for Supreme Overload, Super antipoison and Super anti-fire. If the player is Diamond, the Altar of War will also restore their Special attack! You can also use Bones on it like a regular Altar. Christ that was a lot
    - Delving further into War's Retreat, you'll discover some starter Thieving stalls as well as a Shopkeeper to sell the rewards to
    - ;;shops will direct you to the Eastern-most platform which houses: Diango, Xuan, Wise Old Man, Zaida, Party Pete, Bob, Nastroth and Scavvo! 
    - Finally, a memorial from and ex-player and ex-admin of Edelar, Happy Nut, it's been almost 4 years since his passing and I'm sure the players who were present during the time he played will never forget him.

    - While a lot of people won't appreciate it, for some reason, my favourite part of 916 is this:

    [+] Skill Experience

    - Something I discovered when looking into the experience boosting equipment/items on Ataraxia was that everything is multiplicative, when it shouldn't be, by this I mean: Instead of gaining 50% extra experience from Well and 15% from your outfit equaling 65%, you're receiving 72.5% exp. As you can probably tell, when there's heaps of items that are multiplying with eachother, this equates to much more experience than intended.
    - Removed all Skilling outfits from the NPC popup rewards
    - Added Experience rewards to NPC popups
    - These will instead be achievable through various methods including D&Ds, minigames, Skilling etc
    - So far, these are the following potential places to source the equipment:

    • Skills that have an Outfit (eg. Botanist outfit for Herblore): +10%
    • Skills that have an Elite skilling outfit (eg. Ethereal for Runecrafting): +5% (on top of the +10%)
    • Wisdom auras provide: +10-50%
    • Skilling backpack and Advanced Skilling backpack: +5% and +10% respectively
    • Skeleton outfit (Platinum donator outfit): +2% per piece
    • Mime outfit (Diamond outfit, previously called Lunarfury): +3% per piece
    • Exalted Silver ring & Crystal necklace: +3% per item
    • Perfect Juju potions (eg. Perfect Dungeoneering potion): +10%
    • Globe of Goodwill: +50% during the week, +100% on weekends
    • $20 - $249 Donated: +5%

    [+] Perk Changes (subject to change, still WIP)

    - Imbued focus now gives 15% extra experience for Runecrafting
    - Lumber legend no longer banks Birds nests, added 15% extra experience for Woodcutting excluding Jadinko/Evil tree actions
    - Added 15% extra experience to all Perks, those above 15% were reduced to 15%
    - Evil tree perk now provides +15% extra experience for Evil tree related actions from 25%
    - Green thumb now gives the chance for Monsters to drop a Seed box which provides you with a number of seeds
    - Removed Herbivore doubling your potion timers, this effect was too overpowered to have on a single perk

    - Disabled certain custom varbits and scripts that potentially caused crashes
    - Fixed login issue stating "systems are currently unavailable"
    - Fixed a trade dupe (wasn't widely known and as far as we know wasn't abused)
    - Fixed protean memories not adding to Divination actions

     

     

    Many more features and aspects are close to finishing. A lot wasn't documented here.

    Only question I have is will the perk/donation system stay the same as in buy perk and it adds to total donated and the perk is unlocked perma?

    The system will work very close to if not exactly the same. There'll be different Perks and edited perks though.

    Hello Ataraxians,

     

    As announced previously, the trajectory of Ataraxia has been quite stable for a while. There hasn't been much growth, yet also no substantial drops, at least in the last month or so. We've been maintaining 20-50 people on at one time, which is decent and not too bad for our revision, however, I think we deserve more. 

    There have been a select few people who have consistently played Ataraxia despite the circumstance, and to those people, I commend you. We wouldn't be near where we are if you guys didn't have constant faith. As for the people who have left, currently play or have random spurts of motivation, I appreciate you also.

     

     

     

    Throughout the 2+ years of Development and uptime, Ataraxia has had some pretty substantial fluctuations in the player-base. While I think we have an excellent server, there is a lot of Ataraxia that is incomplete or inconsistent to the standard we want to keep. I won't repeat the various issues and content that require fixing/editing as they were stated: Here. However, over time, the inconsistent player-base has directly correlated with my personal enthusiasm and drive.

    There's content and core issues that require fixing and editing on Ataraxia, and we intend on doing so. However, with the current player-base, I decided it would be best to do these changes while the server was offline. This may come as a shock to some, but the first part of this announcement is: As of the 6th January, the server will be going offline.

    In no way does this mean the server is gone forever, however, there is no set in stone time of Ataraxia's return.

     

    Ataraxia has been stagnant for far too long, I've been with Ataraxia for 3+ years now and frankly, I'm disappointed with the current path it is taking. I never intended Ataraxia to be a massive AFK collection fest. The type of gameplay I remember Ataraxia for is the type of gameplay I want to bring you all. As stated: Here, we intend on taking some time to fix all of the long-standing bugs with NXT and the server. To do this, we had to make the drastic decision of turning the server off for the timebeing, as it's easier to work on these issues with no player-base to worry about. There'll be constant updates with the downtime and we'll be seeking numerous Beta testers to help out with testing new/edited content as well as recreate bugs.

    A large fear of this decision for me was always the lack of funding, Kirito suggested this a long time ago and I simply denied him, even though I knew it was necessary. I was always concerned that if the server went down, I wouldn't have any income, however, the last 6 months I have been fairly responsible with my income, so I'm happy to fund the next few months out of my own pocket in hopes Ataraxia comes out of the other side better than ever. It has gotten to a point where I know, if I don't make this decision now, we'll never do it and we'll be stuck in this never-ending cycle as we always have been. 

    I want the server to be a top 5 server, we deserve it, and we won't get there with this current path.

    As you can see, we have quite a large plate of changes, which is why we've brought in lare96 to help once more. And as you can imagine, with a list like this, a playerbase that is wondering where changes are would only slow the process. This lead to the decision to turn the server off for the next few months.

    The timeframe of how long this will take is up in the air, I want the server to be something pretty much brand new, I want to ruin the current meta, I want to make new metas, I want people to be able to do whatever they want and it still be viable. I don't want to limit progress to one singular slayer monster, I don't want to force people to have to do Telos for progression. I want people to do Skills how they want them, pvm how they want to, play the game how they want to.

    The game is going to change a lot, for the better, and it'll still be the Ataraxia you've grown to love, just so much more fleshed out and expanded to adjust for the intended long future we desire. 

    The server has had content that pretty much broke the game (balancing-wise) too many times to count. The economy is fragile and relatively dead compared to what we want. No items are being sold, not many coins are circulating, and it's become a complete "ironmanscape" kind of game. Which really limits the amount of people we can bring in.

     

    The Future

    As stated, we will be closing the server on the 6th January. From here, we will be relentlessly working to fix the longstanding issues with the game, adding new content, editing new content, streamlining a lot of the integration tools we have (website, forums, discord) as well as constantly update you all with progress.

    However, one announcement you might not want to hear: 

    With the downtime coming on the 6th, when the server relaunches:

    All accounts will be wiped of experience, items, stats (killcounts, collection log), animations, perks and everything in-between.

    Don't worry, your Donations are safe, all accounts will maintain your Donation total you will receive credit/dollars to spend on any Perk/Item/Pet/Animation you want when the server returns. I.E If you have $600 donated, you'll become $0 and receive $600 credit to spend on what you want.

    For those who sold Donations, unfortunately, this likely means you'll lose your money. However, if you feel like you have been unfairly treated as you've sold a lot, please contact me and we'll organise something.

    This decision was not easy. We had to consider all possible options, but unfortunately, the server has gone too far. There have been far too many overpowered methods of gaining items in the past 2 years that went unfixed for months, causing an inflation for the items that stemmed from that content. Such as, Crystal triskelion pieces from Abyssal demons, these extremely rare keys from RS3 became as common as Crystal keys on RS3 on our game, which saw a huge inflation in 3rd-age equipment, Dyes, seeds, ore etc. Another example, Skilling contracts on initial release, this saw 10+ players instantly hit max experience on Skills that were overpowered through the contracts, these went unfixed for weeks/months. 

    There has been so many cases of new-content releases that weren't thought out or slipped through the cracks and was left to simmer for too long on the live game. The economy isn't in a healthy place and this is the best option for the future, as we could change everything we want to, but the game would still be just as stagnant due to an overwhelming amount of late-game gear being readily available for just about every active player.

    As for the Experience/whole account reset (except donations), we understand players like Molecules, Secret, Ryan, Chris and many others have spent thousands of hours grinding out experience and completionist aspects of Ataraxia, and I'm truly sorry that it got to this point, and to you guys, I commend you, you've all achieved so much on Ataraxia and I'm sorry that this decision had to be made.

    However, the new Ataraxia's experience structure differs to the current one substantially, boasting a 1-10 Prestige system with a 200m exp cap. For any new player, joining Ataraxia and seeing the experience cap is 2 billion is pretty demoralising, especially with the above players locking out most Hiscores from contention. 200m is a much more achievable number and anyone getting 200m all should be an achievement. There are many methods to skill on Ataraxia, however, very few are "meta" and many methods go unnoticed because of the structure we currently have. 

    Once again, it fell to the thought pattern of "If we go down for 2 months, will people return if there is no competition", and the flat answer is Yes, however, those players will quickly leave after they have experienced all of the new content. We're attempting to change the game so much that even Veterans aren't too sure what the meta is, and if people are returning with 120 all, there won't be much interest in exploring the content we've worked hard to release.

    These decisions were not made lightly, and have been in the pipeline for months, as you could probably tell, Staff activity has dipped substantially recently, this is because we had a meeting discussing the best possible path for Ataraxia, and mutually agreed this would be it. We have known about this decision since early December, but I wanted everyone on Ataraxia to enjoy their Holiday period, whether it was being reset or not. 

    The recent decision to close Donations was also due to this, however, people were still donating despite being told not to... To those people, I really hope you kept them for yourself, if not, please contact me and we'll organise something.

     

    So what does this mean, summarised:

    • The server will close on the 6th of January, the return date is yet to be determined but will be announced
    • Economy reset
    • Account reset
    • Donations will be kept
    • When the server returns, all of the bugs you're accustomed to will be vanquished
    • When the server returns, all of the content above and more will be added
    • We will have relaunch competitions for experience, items, rewards
    • We will have referral competitions for rewards, items
    • We will hire numerous YouTubers for our relaunch
    • We will constantly update you with our progress
    • We will provide constant teasers to what we're working on
    • We will have Beta testers and Bug busters constantly helping on our Beta server
    • We will return better than ever, you have my word.

     

    Ataraxia has never been taken too seriously due to the revision we are.

    We are the only 718+ server to ever reach the top 5 on Runelocus. When we return, we will retake that crown.

    We will be the lead server in our niche once more, and if you decide to stick with us, you'll be a part of it.

    • In the New Year we will put out applications for Beta testers, we're not going to accept everyone, only those who we believe can actively assist in making decisions for the benefit of the server and actively help with content testing.

    With over 1,000 members still active in the Discord, Ataraxia is still a thriving community. Since August 2018 we've been running consistently with little to no downtime, meaning over 2 years of uptime, 2 years of updates, 2 years of events (more or less). We've built an amazing community and I'm pretty sure almost every high revision fanatic has come through Ataraxia at one point or another, some stayed, some unfortunately not.

    The past 3-5 months haven't been the best for Ataraxia, we've always had bad months or bad periods but never for this long. It's an extremely draining feeling having a successful and thriving server which slowly devolves into 20-40 consistent players over the day from 100s. Motivation from my point of view has always been a struggle, while a lot of you know this is my full time job, the motivation has purely been a monetary benefit for me. And I'm happy to be transparent about that, Ataraxia would likely not be around if it wasn't making money anymore. 

    I think this ideology that I have/had didn't necessarily lead to Ataraxia experiencing these slower months, but certainly contributed. I've surpassed the desire for a quality game with an exceptional community and devolved into doing the bare minimum to ensure players are still playing and paying. This is going to change, for the betterment of the server and my psyche, Ataraxia may make money, but I've failed to realise that when it was most successful, was when it was a passion of mine. 

    Since NXT, we've had widespread success, the first server to have a consistent playerbase on the NXT client (without RS3 combat). We have immense content that Armar, K1ng, Xenthium, Arham, Lare, Brad, myself and ATD have been pumping out over the last year or two. 

    However, we've unfortunately fell into old habits of pushing content on top of broken content and left pressing issues and bugs unfixed and unregistered. The past few months, I believe my monetary desire has led to ignorance in regard to those issues, thinking that if we release cool content like Ed2, Dungeoneering etc.. it would automatically solve the playerbase declining. 

    But alas, it clearly hasn't, and it's taken a lot of people to tell me that the issues with the server far outweigh the benefits of new content. Especially when those issues are inhibiting people from experiencing the new content.

    These issues that I believe have caused the decline are:

    - Widespread lag after long-term uptime
    - Constant disconnects on the NXT client
    - Invisible NPCs in boss fights
    - Inconsistent Interfaces across the board
    - Unclear tier system of progression
    - Unbalanced experience rates across different Skills
    - Small-Medium bugs that have gone unfixed for months
    - Issues with late-game boss scripts eg. Araxxor p2 not transitioning to p3 properly

    And that's just to name a few off the top of my head.

    You're probably wondering what this entire announcement is about, to simplify, I wanted to highlight my wrongdoings with the desire for monetary gain as well as the issues that are causing the server's current decline. And, what we're going to do about it.

    What's the next move?

    There will be one more update before 2021, it will include a Christmas event and FULL Dungeoneering, amongst a couple of other small content fixes/additions.

    That will be the last update of the year, in the meantime, the entire development team will be following a priority list assigned individually. We will be addressing all of the issues that have been prominent on Ataraxia, there will be no new content, no new updates (at least for now).

    We've strayed too far from producing a quality game, and rather gone with quantity over quality. The next few months we'll be attempting to bring quality gameplay to Ataraxia and re-earning our spot as the top high revision server.

     

    There'll be more updates regularly regarding our progress and status, so please stay tuned. We will also be reaching out to some past veterans and players of the server for advice and information to further improve the quality of the game. 

     

    If you have any ideas, changes or fixes that you think should be addressed please contact me directly on Forums or Discord. This will be a team effort between the Development team, staff team and you, the community, to get Ataraxia back on top. 

     

    I appreciate every single one of you that continues to support Ataraxia.

    - You can talk to Death to receive a tutorial!
    - To simplify, the Skilling part of this, you must stabilise the 5 pillars surrounding the Chaotic rift, this will grant you either: Divination, Invention, Prayer, Smithing or Summoning experience, if you switch between Pillars you will receive more experience, the experience gained also scales with your level
    - You can tell the progress of the stabilisation from the particles surrounding the pillars, once fully stabilised it will be glowing at the top of the pillar, encouraging you to stabilise the others:

    - Once all pillars are stabilised, you can enter the Warped chamber which will contain urns, you can break these to receive Halloween Tokens & rewards from this table: https://runescape.wiki/w/Warped_chamber
    - Following this, the pillars will go on cooldown until they reset 4 hours after they spawned, in which they'll all rotate with the same skills on different pillars
    - Lucien, the event boss will spawn every 2 hours. He has 1,000,000 hp.

    [+] Spotlights

    - Hotly requested was a rotating Spotlight on content of Ataraxia. So we decided to do so! Thanks to Arham for working on this and the Skilling spotlights
    - Boss Pet Spotlight will rotate every 3 days, the following Bosses can be picked (the spotlight will never be back to back):

    Kree'arra, Commander Zilyana, K'ril Tsutsaroth, Nex, Giant Mole, Har-aken, King Black Dragon, Queen Black Dragon, Kalphite Queen, Kalphite King, Corporeal Beast, Chaos Elemental, Legio Primus, Secundus, Tertius, Quartus, Quintus, Sextus, Dagannoth Rex, Supreme, Prime, Vorago, Gregorovic, Helwyr, Twin Furies, Vindicta, Telos, Nex: AoD, The Magister, Seiryu, Araxxor, Glacors

    - For those Bosses, it will provide an extra 25% chance to drop the pet on the respective Spotlight! This stacks with the Perk: Petschanter
    - Hopefully this brings life into some otherwise "dead" bosses, allowing those who want to complete every Boss a little boost!

    - Skilling spotlights will also rotate every 3 days, the following Skills can be picked (not b2b): 

    All of them

    - Skilling spotlights will provide an extra 20% experience in the Spotlighted skill!

     

    - Also! Something a bit cool, the statistics following the 3 days will be posted to the Discord channel #spotlights here, you will see all the statistics of the past Spotlights!

    [+] Globe of Goodwill
     

    - Also hotly requested was the ability to add GP to the Globe of Goodwill even if it's full!
    - Arham also worked on completing this as he wrote the initial Well of Goodwill code that every RSPS uses
    - You can now fill the Globe past 100m & it will add on to the already existing time.

    [+] General Changes


    - When purchasing pets from Uzi's Perk Shop it will now award you the amount of $ you spent to your Total donated
    - You can now click on Bonus XP stars and "Open all"
    - Prismatic Stars now give experience scaling with your Game-mode, the official calculation is: Base_Bonus_XP x XP Mode / 3, this will make the Bonus exp rewards a lot better, but with the dividing factor, not so overpowered
    - When fighting King Black Dragon in Platinum zone Instance he will now aggro
    - You can now Enchant Bakriminel bolts through the Enchant crossbow bolt spell
    - Added penalty to dying in a Telos fight. Rare drops are halved on deaths, I.E if you had 6 dormant Seren godbows and died, you would lose 3.
    - Common drops are reduced similar to RS3: "Part of the rewards will be removed as a penalty for dying. The percentage of rewards retained starts at 5% when starting a killstreak, increasing by 5% for every kill afterwards up to 75% (15 killstreak)."
    - Bloodwood tree woodcutting increase to 366 exp per from 320
    - All Omnipotence recipes now require Coins, 2m for every %
    - Crystal Key (g) combination is now 100% but requires 10m to combine the 50 Keys
    - Doubled price of cleansing crystals from the Hefin monk
    - All Main-set GWD1 items reduced from 5m to 3m each
    - All Godswords reduced from 15m to 7.5m
    - All Off-set GWD1 items reduced from 2.5m to 1.5m
    - Max Cape now costs 25m to Purchase, Completionist cape now costs 100m to purchase and Completionist cape (t) requires 250m to purchase
    - Resource Chest and Supply table now cost 500k/350k per use respectively

     

    [+] Runemetrics
     

    - Runemetrics is the replacement for the "EXP Counter" that other servers/OSRS/Pre-EOC had, it's a clean interface as seen below:

    - As you can see, the interfaces display your EXP gained in certain Skills, this is completely customisable, you can Pin rows to keep that skill there forever, remove rows to get rid of unwanted Skill tracking, Set level/XP targets, Reset the rows to 0 exp, track your GP gain per hour from PVMing, track your total damage and your damage per minute, and so so much more
    - There are two options for Runemetrics, Runemetrics Free and Runemetrics PRO:

    - The free version is your basic classic exp counter, drops and the ability to track/organise your exp counters how you please.
    - Pro gives you access to Exp per hour, Time until next level/your level target, Damage, Damage per minute and much more
    - Everyone will receive 3 days free of Pro!
    - Pro does come at a cost of $10 per month (Ataraxia Dollars), however, you can purchase more months of Pro for a discount:

    1 Month - $10
    3 Months - $25
    6 Months - $50
    1 Year - $90

    - Boss pet thresholds have been added for all Bosses!
    - When you reach Killcount milestones, the drop chance of the pet is significantly reduced!

    [+] Treasure Hunter
     

    - Treasure Hunter has been a great Daily thingo for a while, However, for those who purchase Treasure Hunter keys in hopes for glorious loot, it was fairly mediocre
    - Removed Lucky barrows from Treasure Hunter
    - Removed T70-T75 Lucky Weaponry from Treasure Hunter (Godswords, Whip)
    - Removed all Elite skilling outfits from Treasure Hunter
    - Removed Pale and Bright Energy
    - Buffed the amount of Incandescent and Luminous energy you receive by 10x
    - Removed Skirmisher armour and weaponry from Treasure Hunter 
    - Added a Coins reward from 20-50m
    - Added Hydrix to "Super Rare" Loot table
    - Added the following missing pets: Tiger Cub, Jaguar Cub, Snow Leopard Cub, Lion Cub and Springy
    - Added the following Rare items: Santa Hat, Bunny Ears, Green H'ween mask, Red H'ween mask and Blue H'ween mask
    - Hopefully with these changes, Treasure Hunter is a bit more sought after and highly regarded, also cycles in some of those Rare items!

    - Nerfed all Bones/Ashes sell price to less than 20,000 coins per, they sold for way too much and it was unhealthy for the GP Eco
    - Added Prayer bonus of Deathtouched bracelet to Omnipotence Gloves
    - Added Bloodwood trees, they can be found all over Ataraxia! (Edgeville is the easiest location), These will provide "Bloodwood logs" which can be crafted into Bakriminel bolt shafts, which combined with Bakriminel bolt tips from the General store can be fletched into Bakriminel bolts. These bolts are base level T80 and can be upgraded to Hydrix Bakriminel bolt (T90)
    - Vorago unique drop rates have been nerfed slightly, Tectonic energy drop chance lowered from 1-5 to 1-4
    - Slightly reduced the amount that Killstreak and Enrage increased the chance of a Unique drop at Telos
    - You can now split Amulet of souls (or) and Reaper necklace (or) from the ornament kit
    - You can now open Box of Clue scrolls to receive 2 of either Easy, Medium or Hard sealed clues
    - Guido's bonfire now drops un-noted so it goes to the Collection log

    [+] General Changes


    - Protean crafting and Fletching is now functional
    - Cooked Sharks and Prayer potion (3) are now unlimited in the Grand exchange
    - Divine Charges have been added to Hazelmere for Ironman accounts for 250 chimes each
    - Divine Charges have been added to the Grand exchange for regular accounts for 1.8m each
    - You no longer need to have 1000 hours played and 25 Fight kilns for Completionist cape (t)
    - Added Hydrix to Slayer rewards for 2250 Slayer points
    - Lowered price of Hydrix from Death to 450 from 500
    - Overloads are now all tradeable
    - Crystal chest will now notify you that it has sent the items to your bank
    - Araxxor charge on Light path will now be every 45 seconds rather than 1 minute 25
    - You will now damage the wall by default 500 points, if you choose the correct option, it will be 1000
    - You now have an extra second to press the arrow keys
    - Angel of Death unique drops have been buffed.. Quite substantially
    - Salvage now has value at the General store

     

    [+] Boss Balancing


    - The following changes have happened to Boss defences, these changes have been done and discussed in Staff meetings and Community feedback. We're aiming to force a new meta that allows us to move away from Blood barraging everything:

    • Nex: AOD remains weak to Magic
    • Telos remains weak to Magic
    • Vorago remains weak to Magic
    • Kalphite King is now substantially weaker to the combat triangle attacks opposed to his current form (Mage > Melee, Melee > Range, Range > Mage)
    • Corporeal beast is now substantially weak to Melee
    • Chaos Elemental is now weak to Range
    • King Black Dragon is now weak to Melee
    • Giant Mole is now weak to Melee
    • Helwyr is now weak to Melee
    • Vindicta & Gorvek is now weak to Range
    • Gregorovic is now weak to Range
    • Twin furies are now weak to Melee
    • General Graardor is now weak to Melee
    • Kree'arra is now weak to Range
    • Commander Zilyana is now weak to Range
    • K'ril Tsutsaroth is now weak to Melee 

    These weaknesses make it so you're accurate using that style vs the specific boss, meaning, when using other styles, you will/can hit, but it will be much less likely than when using the correct combat style.

    - Treasure Trails now function close to exactly like Runescape 3. This includes:

    - The perk Investigator will retain some of it's existing effects, however, the new effects of the perk are:

    Investigator

    Instantly grants you the Reward Casket for Easy, Medium and Hard clues
    Elite Clue steps will range from 2-4 rather than 5-7
    Master Clue steps will range from 3-5 rather than 6-8

    You will be able to store 60 of each Sealed clue scroll rather than 25
    You have a 1/5 chance to instantly complete an Elite clue
    You have a 1/10 chance to instantly complete a Master clue


    - The rates of Rare items from Clue scrolls will remain how they are pending some trial period, so please let us know how you think they are following the update
    - All puzzles, emote challenges, coordinates, maps, scans and rewards have been added!
    - Skipping tickets to skip certain parts of Clue scrolls have been added to full functionality and unlimited in the Grand exchange for 5m each!
